Our Veterinarians

Dr. Beth Burmeister

Dr. Burmeister has been a part of the Haslett Animal Hospital team since 2002 and has been in veterinary medicine for more than 25 years. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from MSU, and her DVM from MSUCVM. She enjoys working with her patients and interacting with their caring owners. It’s rewarding to be involved in their health cases, providing education to pet owners, and helping the pets live long, good quality lives. Dr. Burmeister’s family includes her husband, who is a veterinary pathologist, and their three children, a 9-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 19-year-old. Her younger children attend Haslett schools and her oldest attends MSU. They also have three dogs: Jake (Lab); Bubbles (border terrier); and Play Dough (orange DSH). When she isn’t working, Dr. Burmeister enjoys gardening and cooking.

Dr. Kevin Harris

Dr. Harris has been with Haslett Animal Hospital since 1988. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University. Dr. Harris enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially client education, surgery, and diagnostic imaging. His family includes his wife Becky and his children Nathan, Abigail, and Katelyn. As a family they also have two dogs named Bella and Daliah, a cat named Carter, 6 Chickens, and 2 goldfish. When he isn’t working, Dr. Harris enjoys swimming, woodworking, restoring old Mustang cars, gardening, boating, fishing, and skiing.

Dr. Mizue Wagner

Dr. Wagner has been at Haslett Animal Hospital since 2010, specializing in small animals. She earned her DVM from Michigan State University in 2004 and also graduated from the Smith College School of Social Work at MSU in 1991. She loves every aspect of veterinary medicine. Dr. Wagner has a husband, a daughter, three cats, and a dog, and when she isn’t working, she enjoys running.

Dr. Abby Harris

Dr. Harris has over 13 years of experience in veterinary care and graduated with honors from Ontario Veterinary College. She completed her undergraduate work with a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University. Dr. Harris truly loves animals and has a passion for veterinary medicine that drives her to provide the best care for her patients and their owners.

Dr. Harris appreciates all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys surgery, ophthalmology and building the relationships with clients and their pets.

Dr. Abby has 2 pets, a boxer named Burton and a cat named Norman Rockwell. When she is not caring for her patients at work, she likes to go running with Burton and spending time with her husband Michael, a civil engineer.

She looks forward to meeting you and caring for your pet’s needs.
